  • Able to move amongst those with different backgrounds having lived in and visited so many culturally diverse countries.

  • Being adaptable to new situations and able to take on new subjects – Teaching media and running new activities every year.

  • Constantly seeking out ways in which to support those in need – Working with EAL department to create tools for students and creating service opportunities in trips abroad

  • Ability to motivate and stimulate positive thinking whilst working on project based assignments requiring effective team working skills – Developing new schemes with colleagues and motivating students to work together to raise money for charity.

  • Strong management and organisational skills obtained from teaching experience – putting my best into every lesson and expecting the best out. Being able to lead teachers in a communication network and lead several activity trips both local and abroad.

  • Ability to act quickly, decisively and confidently when working under pressure – Reworking the department’s reporting system in time for the new school year required working to a tight deadline.

  • Capable of negotiating persuasively and assertively, presenting an accurate view without getting unnerved or omitting key pieces of information – Participating in parent’s evenings in school taught me to be tactful, diplomatic and exercise good communication and presentation skills. Teaching social education to students has taught me to welcome different ideas as well as help students to be wary of media sources and biased opinions.

  • Experienced user of many computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SmartBoard, ActiveInspire, Geogebra, Scratch, Cabri, Logo, Logger-Pro, iMovie, Final-Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
